The moment Albie agreed to his sister’s proposal about keeping me on as the new hotel manager, I was done for. I had officially lost my mind to even consider such an outrageous idea as uprooting my entire life to relocate permanently to Wintervale for a guy I just met. But Albie shyly batting his eyelashes at me as he said, “If he wanted to stick around here with us,” had decided for me. And when he jerked me down to prove me wrong with a heated kiss? I fell completely, utterly, hopelessly in love with him.

His boldness ripped away the last shreds of my willpower. I cupped his face in my hands as I kissed him back with a hunger I had never experienced before. I burned for him with a raging fire that grew into an uncontrollable blaze the longer we continued. Nothing would make me stop tasting his sweet lips, not even his family walking in on us.

When he relinquished his grip on my sweater, I drew back. But he surprised me again by hopping up to sit on the conference table, then pulling me to stand between his legs. He looped his arms over my neck and tugged me down for another round.

I braced my hand against the table as I gladly took what he was offering. He opened for me, allowing me to explore his mouth for the first time as I lost myself in him. The scratch of his nails against my scalp as he threaded his fingers through my hair was divine. I was almost drunk on the ecstasy of having him under me as his tongue teased me into a frenzy.

Part of me was more than ready to act out his fantasy of me fucking him on the conference table. However, we didn’t have any of the necessary products to make that a reality. I drew back to check in with him instead. It was one thing for him to kiss me to throw me off my game, but I needed to know it was what he really wanted.

His beautiful lips curved up into a pleased smirk that made me want to claim them for my own again. “I bet you didn’t see that coming, did you, Sherley?”

It was adorable how self-satisfied he looked at his cunning twist in our game. I caressed his hair with a smile. “Your unpredictable nature made it an entirely predictable outcome.”

“Bullshit. You were planning on bending down and giving me a toe-curlingly hot kiss, not having it be the other way around. Admit it.” His challenging blue gaze fanned the flames of desire in me.

“True, but I have no complaints about it going differently than I expected.” I cupped his flushed cheek, loving that I brought such a beautiful color to his face. “Your mercurial nature makes you so intriguing.”

“See? You don’t know everything, Sherley.” He was practically crowing with glee.

It was time to flip things back around in my favor. “I know I want to kiss you again.
